About the coffee
This Gesha micro-lot lies on a lush, steep mountain valley outside of the town of Caranavi.
The farm is Las Alasitas, the largest of 7 owned by the Rodriguez family.
Las Alasitas covers 20.6 hectares at 1600 metres above sea level. Due to its fertile soils and high altitude, the quality of coffee produced at Las Alasitas has gained a cult following around the world.
There is a hazy depth of tropical and hoppy flavours to this coffee - reminiscent of refreshing a New England IPA on a hot summer's day.
Bolivia has had an up and down curve of coffee production over time due to a multitude of socio-economic factors. Despite this, there is modern wave of specialty micro-lot production and export largely thanks to Daniella, Pedro and Pedro Pablo - the Rodriguez family.
Rare Series
The rare series are coffees that fit in the unique Venn diagram overlap of rare varieties, cultivated by pioneering producers and usually complemented by innovative processes. This is the home of top tier micro-lots.
