About the coffee
Finca La Florida is 10 hectare farm owned by Nicolas Hernández. Nicolas comes from a traditional coffee growing family with a long history in the Tolima region.
Over the years, Nicolas has learned to carry out better practices on the farm to become more sustainable and to maintain and improve the quality of his coffee.
The terroir of Tolima and the Gesha variety do a lot of heavy lifting in the cup, this is complimented with washed processing. After selective picking, the coffee is pulped and fermented with water for 30 hours, and washed twice before drying on raised beds.
This makes for a vibrant brew with classic blackcurrant notes we love in all great Colombian coffees, but also backed up with exciting notes of tropical fruits and watermelon.
Rare Series
The rare series are coffees that fit in the unique Venn diagram overlap of rare varieties, cultivated by pioneering producers and usually complemented by innovative processes. This is the home of top tier micro-lots.
