About the coffee
In 2018 we bought our first Gesha from La Negrita, and from the fragrance of the ground coffee alone, we knew this was the best coffee we'd ever tasted. So we've bought the same lot of Gesha every year since.
La Negrita's coffee wins multiple competitions every year, proving it is some of the best in the world.
For the processing of the Gesha; the coffee is pulped, then fermented in a tank flushed with nitrogen. After 48 hours, the cherries are pre-dried and then air dried for 4-6 weeks in a UV-protected environment, using only natural infrared and high airflow on raised drying beds.
All of this meticulous processing results in a complex and elegant vibrant coffee. This might be the best coffee you ever taste.
Rare Series
The rare series are coffees that fit in the unique Venn diagram overlap of rare varieties, cultivated by pioneering producers and usually complemented by innovative processes. This is the home of top tier micro-lots.
